Understanding Billing
All billing is metered per hour and charged per minute. Every hour, the system updates your usage data and upcoming invoice, which you can view on the billing page.
Usages
On the billing page, you can see both daily and monthly aggregated usage for your workspace.
How are usages calculated?
Usages are categorized into compute, machines, serverless, and storage. All usages are accumulated and calculated every hour, and the system updates your usage data and upcoming invoice accordingly. There may be a slight delay in the update of your usage data, but it should not exceed one hour.
- Compute: Calculated based on the number of minutes your deployments, jobs, or pods are actively deploying, running, and scaling replicas up or down.
- Machines: Calculated based on the number of minutes machines are running. For access to dedicated computational resources through our machines, please contact us.
- Serverless: Calculated based on the number of tokens, steps, or images used with the Lepton serverless API, depending on the type of API you are using.
- Storage: Calculated based on the amount of gigabytes per hour (GB/hour).
Credits
Credits are used to cover your workspace usage payments, including compute, API, and storage. To run a pod, you must have enough credits in your workspace.
Top up your credits
To prevent service interruption, ensure your credit balance is sufficient to cover your upcoming workspace usage. You can top up more credits to your balance on the billing page. Additionally, you can set up automatic payments to top up credits when your balance is low.
Automatic Payment
Automatic payments occur at most once per hour and require a valid default payment method and a minimum balance of $20. We offer two configurable options for automatic payments:
- Balance Threshold: Charge your default payment method when your credit balance falls below this threshold.
- Top-up Amount: The amount of credits to add when an automatic payment occurs.
Payment Methods
We support credit cards and bank accounts as payment methods. For a secure and fast checkout experience, you can choose Link as a payment method. Link saves your payment information and autofills your saved card details for all future payments on our platform.
If you encounter issues with card payments, please contact our support team for assistance.
Payments
Payments are triggered by one of two events: billing threshold or monthly invoice. You can view your next payment details in the upcoming invoice section.
Billing Threshold
Every workspace has a set billing threshold. When the next payment amount reaches this threshold, the system will automatically charge your credits or, if your credit balance is insufficient, charge your default payment method. You can increase the billing threshold by upgrading your plan or by contacting our support team.
Monthly Invoice
On the first day of each month, the system will automatically charge your workspace for the previous month's usage, regardless of the billing threshold.
When are payments due?
Invoice payments are due immediately upon receipt. Ensure your payment method is up-to-date to avoid service interruption. Any failed payment will result in a temporary suspension of your workspace. However, you can still access your workspace and data, but you won't be able to run any deployments, jobs, or pods until all open invoices are paid.
Invoice History
You can view all your past invoices on the billing page. Each invoice contains detailed information about your usage, payments, and credits used. Additionally, each time you top up your credits, the system will generate an invoice for the top-up amount.
